Boy's Club Wiki
The Boy's Club Wiki is continually revising our policies.
If you locate any unwritten rule that should be clarified, please use the talk page to make a proposal.

The Article Creation Policy is a fundamental guideline used when deciding whether a page should be created or not. The Boy's Club Wiki aims to cover everything within the Boy's Club universe, while maintaining a high standard of quality in every article.

The first step when creating an article is to use the appropriate template depending on the article's topic. Templates automatically generate and organize the key elements that should be present in an article. For example, pages about characters should use the character template, and so forth.

When creating an article, keep in mind that the purpose of this wiki is to provide readers with as much verified information as possible. While not every contributor is expected to fulfill this completely, at the very least, add enough information to give readers a satisfactory understanding of the article's subject. For in-universe elements, pay particular attention to sections like Biography or Plot and include all important details. Simply filling out an infobox is not enough. Articles failing to meet these requirements will be considered stubs and are likely to be deleted once noticed.

This policy focuses on whether an article should be created. For guidance on article content and formatting, consult the Manual of Style and the various Layout Guides.

Article Naming[]

Every article in the Boy's Club Wiki must follow the Naming Conventions. Basic rules include:

  • Use title case for article names: capitalize all major words except articles, conjunctions, and short prepositions, unless they are the first or last word.
  • Disambiguation pages are used when multiple subjects share the same name.
  • Article titles for items and locations don't require reality designations since all versions from different universes of either of these are grouped in the same article.
  • Books should be named based on the title displayed in their indicia.
  • Avoid starting article titles with "The" unless it is essential to the subject's identity.

Characters[]

Character articles can be created upon their first appearance or mention in any official media, with the requisite that they have enough relevant information to justify an article. Guidelines:

  • Named and unnamed characters with enough relevant details may have their own articles.
  • Minor characters lacking sufficient information should be added to the List of Minor Characters article. A character from that list can be expanded as a full article if the events surrounding his appearance are written from the character's point of view.
  • Characters only mentioned by name without additional context should not have standalone articles but can be noted in related articles.
  • Avoid articles on unseen or indirectly mentioned characters unless they have significant relevance.

Alternate Versions of Characters[]

Articles about alternate versions of existing characters may be created if:

  • The version appears in a different universe or reality.
  • Their biography or role significantly differs from the main version.
  • An appropriate disambiguator is chosen before creating the article.

Items[]

Item articles can be created upon their first appearance or mention in any official media for:

  • Fictional Items or Vehicles that are "real" within the Boy's Club universe.
  • Items or Vehicles that have a real-world counterpart, but are unique or important enough to grant the creation of an article, having enough relevant information about the item covered in the History section.
  • Vehicles that , with articles for unique vehicles rather than different models.
    • Creation of articles for different models of a single vehicle is not allowed, as they should be covered in the general History section of the main article.

Locations[]

Location articles can be created upon their first appearance or mention in any official media for:

  • Real-world continents, countries, states or cities referenced in any Boy's Club media.
    • Articles about neighborhoods or boroughs are, as a general rule, not allowed. The specific information about them should be added to a "Layout" section in the article about the city, which would include a list of specific landmarks within the neighborhood or borough.
  • Fictional planets, continents, countries or cities, that are "real" within the Boy's Club universe.
  • Facilities, establishments, etc... with notable appearances within any official media.
  • Articles about minor subdivisions within a facility are not allowed. The events that happen in them must be covered in the History section of the facility article, while the description of the room or area must be covered in the Layout section.

Species and Creatures[]

Species articles can be created upon their first appearance or mention in any official media if:

  • They are sentient or non-sentient species with sufficient lore.
  • Real-world species only qualify if their version in Boy's Club differs significantly (e.g. Cats, that, in the comics, are able to communicate and also exhibit different fur colors).

Organizations[]

Organization articles can be created upon their first appearance or mention in any official media for:

  • Organizations and Companies that are fictional from a real-world point of view, but considered real within the Boy's Club universe.
  • Organizations and Companies that have a real-world counterpart, but are unique or important enough to grant the creation of an article, having enough relevant information about the organization covered in the History section.

Events[]

Event articles should cover major events within the Boy's Club universe. Minor or trivial events should not have separate articles. Events articles can be created for:

  • Major events or conflicts in any kind of media, especially for its climax and/or finale.
  • Events that are important enough in the media in question, and have enough information to properly construct an article.

People[]

Articles about writers, artists or any people involved in any kind of media can be created as soon as their involvement is confirmed.

Articles for different media related to Boy's Club can be created once officially announced or released. Placeholder titles may be used to collect the information prior to the announcement of its official title.

  • Book and zine articles can be created once the book or zine is confirmed to be developed in a future.
